Week 4- Butterfly Socks

Yes more butterflies! The butterflies on these socks are a slightly daintier version than those on the mittens and would look great in any plain 4 ply sock yarn, they get a bit lost in multicoloured yarns. Pattern available here

Butterflies in the round are slightly more tricky but very doable, let me know if you have any problems ūüôā

Week 3- Hottle Bottle

Hot water bottles are pretty much essential at this time of year, and this cover made in Alpaca Tweed Chunky makes it extra snuggly. Pattern available for free here

The front has one large cable which is simpler than it looks, this project would be a good one if you’ve never tried cabling before. The back is all garter stitch so nice and thick and warm!

Week 2-Rainbow Beanie

This beanie is worked in Fair Isle in many different colours so is a great pattern to use up small bits you have left over from other projects, don’t feel like you have to buy 10 new balls of wool for a project like this! Buy the pattern¬†here

The shaping for the crown is done in the plain rows so it doesn’t mess up your pattern. This hat is done in the round so there is no seaming to mess up the pattern either.

Although it looks complicated, Fair Isle is only two colours per row so it’s not too bad!

Week 1- Butterfly Mitts

IMG_3345.JPGI’m kicking off this year with the first pattern I ever got published (Knit Now, Issue 47). These fingerless gloves have slip stitch butterfly pattern on a stocking stitch background and you simply leave a hole for your thumb so they knit up pretty quickly.

This pattern is available for free on Ravelry here

Or if you’d like it emailing to you please drop me an email: dorislowman@googlemail.com
