Week 8- Spots and Stripes Cowl

This cowl is entirely seamless. The cast on is provisional so it can be grafted to the stitches at the end, and it is knitted in the round, perfect if you hate sewing up! The cowl can be turned inside out, one side is spotty, the other is stripey.

Pattern is available on Ravelry here. It is knitted in the lovely Debbie Bliss Blue Faced Leicester DK, and there’s plenty of colours to chose from.

Week 7- Hearts on a Hat

In a vague nod to Valentine’s Day, this hat has tiny textured hearts all over it. It’s knitted in a chunky alpaca blend and it only uses 50g. The rib band has some mock cables on which are very easy to do and look great. I’ve added some fur pom poms I bought in Tokyo that I’ve been itching to use on something, but yarn pom poms would work just as well. Pattern available here!

Week 6- Riverbed Hat

This week’s pattern comes from Issue 57 of Knit Now magazine which happens to be a British issue, full of all the best British yarns. My hat is designed in West Yorkshire Spinners Illustrious yarn, which is a gorgeous mix of Falkland Wool and British Alpaca, see all the shades on their website here. The hat is a slouchy beret style with a herringbone band and details. I will be adding some pictures of my own at a later date when I get my hat back!

Week 5-Honeycomb

Hexagons are used all the time in quilting and quite a lot in crochet but you don’t see them that often in knitting. This triangular shawl is made up of tessellating hexagons, you pick up from the edges of one to make the next, so you can keep going for as long as you like. Pattern available here

This scarf was done in Araucania Puelo which is 100% baby llama so very soft and warm. It is hand dyed so the colour effects are great, no two hexagons are the same.

I was hoping to have a full garment finished for the last pattern of this month but the weather has been so bad I’ve got no good photos, so it’ll have to wait!
