Week 22- Delilah Bag

I’ve been published again! This week’s pattern is from the Designer Challenge section of Knit Now Issue 61, and is a little zip up bag. It has cables of various sizes, lots of moss stitch and a little tassel to finish it off. Great for a fairly quick project with lots of texture, and fairly useful to keep knitting bits and bobs or make up in when you’ve done. Don’t panic about sewing the zip in, you can easily replace it with velcro or snap fasteners if you prefer 🙂 Once again I will add some pictures when I get the bag back, but for now you the Raverly page can be found here! and the printed pattern can be found in Knit Now in shops now!

Week 21- Springtime Mitts

This week is another matching pattern, this time to my Springtime Shawl. These mittens are knitted on the bias by increasing and decreasing in the same row, and the thumb is added after. They are knitted in the round so no sewing up and look great in self- striping sock yarn as you can really see the unusual construction. Sock yarns would be a great to use for this project, and 50g is plenty for the pair. I wear mine all the time, as they’re not too bulky and just keep your hands from getting too chilly. The pattern can be found here!

As usual, please feel free to ask me any questions, comment on here or send me a message on Ravelry, I’m more than happy to help!

Week 20- Goldeneye

I loved working in Snældan Island Wool when I made Goldfingers a few weeks back, so much so that I’ve made a matching hat! Goldeneye uses the same colours and you can knit both from one ball of each colour. The hat has the same fair isle pattern and change from charcoal to gold, and is finished with a pompom. The pattern for the hat is available here! and if you missed it the gloves can be found for free here 🙂. This wool is lovely to work with, and if gold and grey isn’t your thing, Island Wool have lots of bright jewel tones and plenty of natural shades to choose from, take your pick!

Week 19- Bonus baby sock pattern

I know sock month is over technically but I wanted to include a baby sock pattern. I have made this pattern so many times I can’t keep count. It is just a plain old baby sock pattern and it works a treat. It is done using DPNs so no seams to rub little baby toes 🙂 I can get two pairs from one 25g ball of My First Regia but I often use the leftovers from adult socks I’ve knitted (once did matching mother and baby socks, very cute!) It is available from my Ravelry page here!

Week 18- Audrey Bag

This week’s pattern is another published one; in Issue 60 of Knit Now. My first ever published pattern came out this time last year, also in Knit Now. It is still really exciting to see things that I have designed printed in publications, and to think that (hopefully) people will enjoy knitting them. Fingers crossed I can keep getting my designs in magazines!

Audrey is a simple clutch bag with moss stitch edging and floral embroidery on the back and front. It is a very quick knit (the embroidery definitely took much longer!) The pattern is available in the magazine, the Ravelry page for the pattern is here! I forgot to take any photos before I sent it off (doh!) but I will add some when it is returned to me.
