Week 39- Eli’s cardigan

This little cardi comes in premature sizes and 0-6, 6-12 months. It has a moss stitch yoke that is knitted in once piece, and the stocking stitch body is done in one piece too so there is very little of that dreaded sewing up… The buttonband is worked in one piece and there are options for buttons to be either side if you know the sex of the baby. I have used Debbie Bliss Mia for this pattern, a lovely mix of cotton and wool and very soft on baby’s skin. Have a look at her website about it here. Hopefully I’ll be able to update this page with pics of the baby in the cardi once he has arrived, so watch this space! You can find the pattern here.

  1. In the pattern you leave out the number of stitches on the first sleeve i guessed 27.
The purl row then sleeve stitches go up 2 and the back down two when you are decreasing.
for the next knit decrease row what is number of the stitches of the sleeve before you decrease again. I find this very confusting

  2. Hi Meg,
Could you let me know which size you are doing and which bit you mean, I’m a bit confused myself as to where you are in the pattern! You are more than welcome to email me if that’s easier on dorislowman@googlemail.com and I can help sort out anything that’s unclear for you 🙂
